Lunar New Year mass shooting: Who is the suspect? Is He/She Arrested?

Around ten people have been shot and killed, and ten others have been injured and taken to the local hospitals in an attempt to save their lives. A Lunar New Year mass shooting has taken place east of Los Angeles on Saturday, putting innocent people’s lives in danger.

The incident occurred following a Lunar New Year celebration at a dance club on Garvey Avenue in Monterey Park. Several stores on the street were closed in honor of the Lunar New Year celebration, and thousands of people collected at the club to celebrate the two-day event.

The police have been trying to catch the suspect of the Lunar New Year mass shooting and update the people on their latest findings. Captain Andrew Meyer of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department described the scene of the mass shooting when the police arrived, saying that people were “pouring out of the location screaming” at 10:30 pm.

The authorities have shared that a man opened fire at 10:22 pm Saturday at Star Ballroom Dance and escaped from the crime scene. This has led to all the celebrations planned for Sunday being canceled as people pray for the deceased and hope that the survivors are all healthy.

The police are still trying to figure out why the suspect came armed at a party and tried to kill so many people. Robert Luna, the Los Angeles County Sheriff on this case, said:

“We don’t know if this is specifically a hate crime defined by law, but who walks into a dance hall and guns down 20 people?”
