Minecraft Houses: Build Like a Pro

Houses are an essential part of Minecraft. It is the place where you protect yourself from mobs, craft, smelt and brew many useful items. In short, you can do anything which you want in your Minecraft houses. All you need to do is put in a little more time to understand the game.

In the beginning, the primary purpose of Minecraft houses is to protect the player. But with time, effort and progress, you can opt for a lot more such as building a mansion or even a castle. Many players, as they progress, build a house that looks beautiful and shows how good they are in the game. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, have a read and check if you have done everything correctly.

Where should you Build your Minecraft Houses?

For building Minecraft houses, the location is everything that you all need to think about! The game gives you a lot of options for land so that you can build your house wherever you want. You can make it into cliffs, mountains, bare land, underground, underwater or in the sky as well.

If you are a beginner, we would recommend you build your house on bare land. Making a house underwater in Minecraft might seem fascinating to you, but it comes with a lot of cons. The downsides include the danger of drowning, comparatively longer building time and complexity. Thus, we would advise you to get the hang of the game, practise on bare land and then go for a house underwater in Minecraft.

Building Materials for your Minecraft Houses

The beauty of Minecraft is that you have the freedom to build whatever type of house you want. But to make any house, you need materials. Before choosing any material, keep in mind that your home should be robust, explosion-proof and not flammable.

For the construction of your house, you can choose any material from the list below:

  • Concrete.
  • Stone.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Granite.
  • Wood.
  • Obsidian.
  • Diorite.
  • Dirt.
  • Andesite.

We would never recommend you to use dirt as it is not explosion-proof. Also, we would advise you not to use wood if you have other materials for building your home because it is flammable. However, if the wood you have is from the nether, it will not be volatile and the right choice for your house.

Important rooms to have in your Minecraft House

You can have any room you want in your Minecraft house since you get to build it. However, we feel that some places are much more important to have. So, we have compiled a list of the names of those rooms that we find are essential in your Minecraft house.

  • Foyer.
  • Bedroom.
  • Crafting Room.
  • Storage Room.
  • Hidden Vault.
  • Cobblestone Generator.
  • Portal Room.
  • Library.
  • Emergency Escape Exit.
  • Enchanting Room.
  • Mass Tree Farm.
  • Brewing Room.
  • Smelting Room.
  • Watchtower Room.
  • A Redstone Testing Room.
  • Obsidian Lab.
  • Animal Farms.
  • Indoor Crop Farms.
  • Entrance to your Mine.
  • Armoury.

Things to Keep in mind while Building your Minecraft Houses

There are a couple of things that you should keep in mind while building your house and we have all of them jotted down in one place for you!

  • Build a house with no holes in it. It is because you do not want a hostile mob to come inside.
  • Make your house well lit.
  • Have a bed in your home so that the player can rest to reset the spawn points. A bed will also speed up the duration of the night.
  • Build trap doors and an ordinary door in your house. But, make sure all the doors are closed so that no enemy comes in.
  • Do not opt for a ceiling more than two blocks high. We advise this so that no endermen teleports inside.

It is everything that we think you should keep in mind while building a house. If there are any more tips, please share with us in the comments below.
