Animal Crossing Sanrio amiibo Cards Are Coming to the US on March 26, 2021

Soon, Animal Crossing Sanrio amiibo Cards will be heading to the USA and UK market. It is the first time in the history of animal crossing that a set of rare cards will take shape outside Japan.

Nintendo announced the news via their official Twitter handle. As per the announcement, The Animal Crossing Sanrio amiibo Cards will go on sale in North America on March 26, 2021, with a price tag of $5.99 six-packs. The cards are fully compatible with Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. All the Europian countries’ fans will also be getting these cards, but sadly no further details on their price and availability were shared.

A pack of Animal Crossing Sanrio will contain six different amiibo cards inspired by a selection of Sanrio properties including Hello Kitty, Little Twin Stars, My Melody, and others! Furthermore, each of the collection features a village inspired by Sanrio character and appropriately themed furniture.

Animal Crossing Sanrio amiibo Cards History

Originally these cards were announced back in 2017. And they went along with the Welcome amiibo update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Below is a list of cards that appeared in the collection.

  • Chai, a Cinnamoroll-themed elephant
  • Chelsea, a My Melody-themed sheep
  • Etoile, a Little Twin Stars-themed sheep
  • Marty, a Pompompurin-themed bear
  • Rilla, a Hello Kitty-themed gorilla
  • Toby, a Keroppi-themed rabbit

Animal Crossing Sanrio Cards Release Date (Reprint) in America

The Animal Crossing Sanrio amiibo Cards are all set to release/reprint in North America on March 26th, 2021. All the fans will be able to get them through Target in the USA and “select retailers” in Canada. Details regarding the Canadian retailers are still behind the covers

Moreover, every Animal Crossing must note that the packaging’s content is identical to the original release from 2016 with no changes.

What Can Sanrio Cards Do In New Horizons & New Leaf?

In short, amiibo Cards can be used in the game to get special clothing or furniture items. Else they also can be used to exchange a MEOW Coupons.

The pictures and information regarding the villagers and their furniture haven’t been available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, we hope that all the information will be shared with us in future updates.
