Great news for fans because Yellowjackets Season 2 is official! Well, Showtime offered a second season prior to the premiere of the first season, so this is not shocking news for many. But now the question arises which characters will return in the upcoming season of Yellowjackets? To find out, continue reading!
Yellowjackets Season 2 Cast
Although things were tough for our characters in the first season, expect most of them to return in Yellowjackets Season 2. According to our speculations, the following will feature in the upcoming season:
- Melani Lynsky as Shauna
- Christina Ricci as Misty
- Juliette Lewis as Natalie
- Tawny Cypress as Taissa
And their younger parts will also return; Sophie Nelisse, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, and Jasmin Savoy Brown. They’ll be joined by Warren Kole, Sarah Desjardins, Rukiya Bernard, and Aiden Stoxx.
The new cast members that will soon join Yellowjackets are unknown.

However, we do know that we’ll get to meet the adult version of Lottie, who is now the new cult leader. And according to the showrunners, more adult versions of our characters will feature in the upcoming season. Misty, Shauna, Taissa, and Natalie have done some pretty serious job and are well connected to a mysterious murder. Of course, as Adam and Jessica are no longer there, we’ll be getting new investigators who will hopefully handle the case better.
Release Date
Yellowjackets Season 2 does not have a confirmed release date yet. However, according to the creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the second season will begin its production in late summer. Moreover, Gary Levine also mentioned in an interview that they are hoping to go for a late 2022 release.
However, these are just assumptions, and in case of any delays, we will probably get the second season somewhere in 2023. That is a long wait, but hopefully, it will be worth it.

Yellowjackets Season 2 Plot
The plot is about to become 10x darker. Lottie’s cult will most likely make the center of the second season, and the chances of meeting adult Lottie are pretty high. Jackie’s death in the first season changed the lives of all the characters, especially Lottie, who unfortunately got the taste of human flesh. So a lot of cannibalism is on its way! Plus, she is now the leader of the group. Hence things are about to go South.
Lottie never wanted Travis dead; however, her cult still murdered him. This shows that Lottie’s hold on the cult is gradually fading. Therefore Yellowjackets Season 2 is going to be much more enjoyable. As there is no plot synopsis for the upcoming season, we can’t say for sure which plot line the showrunners will go with.
There are other mysteries, too, for example, the story behind the creepy cabin, the girl that the soccer team ate, and what was going on with Tai.

Unfortunately, there is no official trailer for Yellowjackets Season 2 yet. And as mentioned above, the filming will begin in late summer, so we are still quite far away from getting one. It is a long wait, but hopefully, it will be worth it.
