The Penguin: Everything We Know So Far

The Penguin is the first spin-off show from The Batman, a crime drama. Batman premiered on March 4, 2022, and was an instant success for DC. Also, after the film’s success, Matt Reeves began his journey to create his own space in the DC universe by interconnecting different projects, including Batman characters. Colin Farrell is one of the most loved characters from Batman, who played the foul-mouthed Penguin. The dark humor, intense makeup, and perfect performance won the hearts of the fans.

It is why the character is getting its very own show, The Penguin. If you have loved the character from the film and are now excited about the show, keep reading.

Colin Farell will, of course, be the protagonist of the show. In addition to Colin Farell, here is the list of the other cast:

  • Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone (daughter of Carmine Falcone)
  • Michael Kelly
  • Shohreh Aghdashloo
  • Deidre O’Connell
  • Clancy Brown

We will update the list if any new actors or actresses join the cast list. Matt Reeves is the show’s executive producer, with Dylan Clark, his production partner.

The Penguin: The Plot

Matt Reeves confirmed that The Penguin would pick the story from where the things were left in The Batman. So, it is safe to assume that The Penguin will lead directly to The Batman: Part Two, which is interesting. In the show, Colin Farrell’s Penguin will engage in a power plan to control the reign of Gotham. But, of course, we are talking about the crime world!

The official synopsis of the show has yet to be out. However, Sarah Aubrey, HBO Max head of originals, has shed some light on the show’s plot. Sarah revealed that the ultimate goal of The Penguin is to show the viewers the life of Oz along with the crimes happening in Gotham streets. The viewers will see The Penguin as a hustler with a strategic mind.

Furthermore, the show will feature eight episodes filled with interesting twists and turns and new characters. Also, much of the focus will rely on the street level in the front because Batman isn’t here to show his flying skills.

Is There A Trailer For The Penguin?

The production of the show is yet to begin. Hence, it is too early for a trailer. The filming of the show began in February, and it will take several months before the shooting of the show is complete. We expect a teaser only after the shooting is wrapped up with little editing. Therefore, the earliest we can see a teaser of The Penguin is this year’s end.
