Stardew valley Sam is another NPC of the game. But he is different from all other male characters of the game as sam is an outgoing and friendly boy. Whenever you meet him, you find him always brimming with youthful energy. Sam is very passionate about music, and he is an excellent drummer and guitarist. One day he wants to start his band with Sebastion as soon as he has enough songs together.
Sam in Stardew valley is very energetic, but he has a good habit of starting a new project. But he never completes them. His father is in the military, and he loves his father a lot. But he is also a little stressed about the imminent return of his father because he has been away for years due to his line of work.
Stardew Valley Sam lives with his mother and younger brother Vincent. You can find his house in the southern part of pelican town, which is just north of the river at 1 Willow Lane. Thus, if you have a crush on him and want to find Sam in the valley. Then you should check Jojamart regularly as he works there as a part-time worker.
Stardew Valley Sam Relationships
In the family, sam has just his mother and a younger brother Vincent. But he is very close to his brother. Just like every elder brother, he feels responsible towards Vincent in his dad’s absence.
In the spring season, year 2 Sam’s father Kent, returns from his job and resides with his family. After the marriage, sam will visit his house regularly to check up on his father, mother and brother.
He likes to spend time with his friends Sebastian, Abigail and Penny. Whenever all these three hangouts at Stardrop salon, you can see that Sebastian always beat him at the pool. Meanwhile, Abigail watches them from the couch. In the flower dance festival, he dances with Penny if anyone doesn’t choose him as a dance partner.
Stardew Valley Sam Schedule
Depending on the season, weather, or festival (for instance luau Stardew Valley Sam schedule can deviate. For example, when it rains, his plan will override all others below it.
As mentioned earlier, he is a music lover, so you can find him in his bedroom practising his guitar, sometimes with Sebastian. Often you can found him outside his house playing a handheld video game, or attempting skateboard tricks.
During the weekends, you can spot him playing pool with his friends Sebastian at Stardrop Saloon. On Monday and Wednesday, you can find him at JojaMart as he works there as a part-time worker. Else he can be found at the Museum in the Artifacts and Minerals display (only if you have already restored the Community Center).
During the spring season, he frequently visits the Stardrop Saloon, and in summer he goes to the beach and visits the woods west of town in the fall.
Stardew Valley Sam doesn’t like to leave his house when it rains, but still, he visits Stardrop Saloon for a few hours. On the 11th of every Fall, he has an appointment with a doctor.

Stardew Valley Sam Gifts
When it comes to the sam’s favourite gift item, then you can send him anything from the list of his universal loved things. He would appreciate your efforts, if you give him Pizza, Cactus Fruit, Tigerseye, and Maple Bar. Sam likes Joja Cola, Eggs (obviously not the Void Egg). Moreover, you can also choose items from his Universal Likes category.
Throughout the week, you can send him only one gift, but on his birthday, you can send him an additional gift.
His birthday is on the 17th of every summer. So, don’t forget to send him an extra gift on his birthday to increase your friendship/romance level with him quickly.
However, if you send him milk, any fruit or item from Universal Neutrals category, then his reaction will remain neutral completely.
Sam is a boy, but still, his list of dislike or hate items is very long. I think it is due to because he is an artist. Sam’s list of worst and disliked gift items include Hazelnut, Common Mushroom, Purple Mushroom, Chanterelle, Morel, Daffodil, Snow Yam, Leek, Dandelion, Seaweed, Holly, Winter Root, Quartz, Wild Horseradish, and Salmonberry. Gold Bar, Coal, Iridium Ore, Duck Mayonnaise, Iridium Bar, Copper Bar, Refined Quartz, Iron Bar, Gold Ore, Pickles, or Mayonnaise.
We suggest you skip items from this category because by sending any item from this list will harm your romance with him. But if you consider sending any of these items mentioned above, then to start friendship/romance again with him, you need to start from scratch.
Because when you send him an item which he hates, he will say, “You don’t get it, huh?”. And after this, a few points will be deducted from your friendship level, and Sam will also start to ignore you.
Sam Stardew Valley Heart Events
With sam, you can trigger six heart events along with another fourteen hearts event. These heart events are significant because these are essential to measuring your relationship measure with the Stardew valley villagers.
Two Heart Event
You need to visit him at his house. Upon reaching you’ll notice that sam and Sebastian are jamming, after seeing you in his home. Sam will tell you that they both are trying to start a new band, but they aren’t sure about the style of music to play.
Then Sam will ask for a suggestion based on your knowledge. Then you can suggest to him any of the below-mentioned genres.
- “Cheerful pop music.”
- “Experimental noise rock.”
- “Hi-energy dance music.”
- “Honky-tonk country music.”
Doesn’t matter which genre you suggest. Sam will just say he’s been thinking about this genre. This event also won’t make any effect on your friendship level. So, you don’t need to think twice before giving your suggestion.
Quick Note:- If you skip this cutscene, then Sam’s 8-heart event cutscene will not have any music playing. So, don’t blame your speaker for this.
Three Hearts Event
This event is exceptional, as it only happens once in a year. It takes place on the beach. So, visit the beach between 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. But before heading, make sure it’s not raining. Moreover, you also can’t trigger this event in the winter season.
At the beach, you will find that sam is watching his brother playing in the sand. Sam will tell you about his father who is in the army. Then he will tell you about his childhood experience when his dad used to take him to the beach on sunny days. During the conversation, Vincent will ask if their father will come home? Sam says “Of course”.
After this Vincent mentions overhearing people talk about war and mass military person’s casualties, Sam tells Vincent to don’t believe on those liars and after this Vincent return to play in the sand.
After hearing all those negative news from Vincent, Sam becomes sad for giving fake hopes to his brother and asks for your opinion.
You have two options which you can use as a reply. But none of these will increase or decrease your friendship level with him.
For “It’s best, to be honest with kids.” Initially, Sam will question your thoughts, but at last, he will agree by saying that kids have to learn about the world one way or another.
For “You did the right thing. Kids should have hope.” In this case, Sam will agree with you instantly by saying that kids should hang on to their childhood as long as they can.
After this, Sam tells you that their band is coming together and he wants Abigail to be the drummer for some reasons.
Four Hearts Event
To trigger this event, enter Sam’s house. You will see him in the kitchen. While bringing a snack, an egg falls on the floor. Upon hearing the disturbance, his mom Judy walks in the kitchen and become upset about the shambles. Now Sam asks you to tell her what happened exactly.
Now you have three options to choose. But this time you should be careful while selecting the answer as a wrong answer will cost you 50 points.
- If you choose to say “Sam dropped the snack as he was handing it to me.” Then ten friendship points will be deducted from the total.
- If you say “Sam handed me the snack, and then I dropped it.” Then you will earn 50 friendship points as Sam agrees with you.
- But if you choose to say “Sam dropped it on purpose. He thought it would be funny.” Then you’ll lose 50 friendship points, and somehow that will harm your friendship.
Before the ending of the cutscene, Judy will thank you for being honest and, Sam insists he’ll clean up all the mess.
Six Hearts Event
Once you manage to reach six hearts event with Sam, then you should enter the town on a sunny day before 4:00 PM. In the city, you will see Sam is skating and grinding on Emily and Haley’s flower box. The mayor Lewis catches him and scold him for ruining the flowers. Now Lewis asks for your suggestion, and you’ll have three option. You can answer anything as none of your answers would be affecting your friendship level.
- “You’re right, sir. Sam should respect private property.” In this scenario, Sam is unhappy, but obliges and says he’ll just not skateboard in his life again.
- “Don’t blame Sam. There’s nowhere else to ride!” Now your friend Sam seems to be happy and agrees. However, Mayor Lewis gets annoyed and mentions that he thought you were more mature than that but afterwards apologizes to Sam and asks him to be more careful in the future.
- “I’m staying out of this.” You this answer will make the Mayor Lewis angrier, and he says he doesn’t want to see Sam doing it again. Sam agrees with him, and the Mayor leaves. When he goes, Sam turns to you and, with a smile, asks if you saw his rad trick.
Eight Hearts Event
If you haven’t seen his two hearts event, then you can’t trigger the eight hearts event.
On any day, Sam comes up at your doorstep between 6:00 am, and 8:00 am. He came to invite you to see his band perform in the city and he also asks you to meet at the bus stop at 4:00 pm.
Thus, go to the bus stop screen to meet Sam and other members of his band and watch them play. After his performance, he will thank you for giving them an idea of music that inspires his band.
Note: During this event, no time will have passed. If you entered the bus stop at 4:00 PM, then you will be returned to your farm at 4:00 pm as well.
Ten Hearts Event
When you receive a letter from Sam, enter the town on a sunny day between 8:00 pm and midnight. This event trigger at his house, upon reaching, he will say it’s quite cold outside and ask you to go in his room to talk privately.
When he starts to confess his feelings, his mom knocks on the door. So, you will have to hide in his bed. When his mom comes inside, she asks him why he’s sweating and red in the face. To this, Sam replies that he was doing the push-ups and she wishes him good night and leaves.
Now you have two options, but remember, none of these actions will affect your relationship with Sam. So, choose as per your convenient.
Stay inside the bed: In this situation, he crawls into the bed with you, kisses you, and says “I knew there was something special between us.”
Get out of the bed: If you choose this option, the game offers you another two options, which are as follows.
- Move Closer: You return Sam’s affections, and both of you kiss.
- Head for the window: You reject Sam’s proposal.
