Yesterday, after Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX 2S smartphone at an event held in Shanghai, we came across the news of Mi 7. Not everything is fresh since most of the features were already known. A very well thanks to the information revealed by the firmware files on the site XDA Developers by @FunkyHuawei user. The previously leaked specs include rear dual cameras and latest Snapdragon 845 SoC. The Xiaomi Mi 7 was also not revealed in MWC 2018. It will sport iPhone alike display notch however we are not sure if it will feature a in-display Fingerprint sensor or not.
Xiaomi Mi 7 Specifications: What we know so far
After filtering the firmware files of the two devices, it was revealed that only the dipper-old has a fingerprint reader on the screen developed by the companies Synaptics and Goodix. The presence of “old” in the designation of dipper-old suggests that it may be a prototype discarded from Mi 7. However an element of XDA Developers shared an image of the mysterious Xiaomi smartphone that has fingerprint sensor on the screen. The device as expected will be a notched display measuring 5.6-inch diagonally having Full HD resolution. It would be speculated as two variant device having 6 GB and 8 GB RAM.
The publication claims that there is another smartphone with the code name ursa (original do not you think?) That comes with features similar to those of the dipper. It is a smartphone with OLED display, and Snapdragon 845 chipset, optical zoom and 4,000 mAh battery. The also comes with the fingerprint reader on the screen. The image featuring shows a notch which hides the selfie camera and a earpiece.
Combining all the info we conclude that there is the possibility that the Xiaomi ursa is the Mi 7 Plus. This report has been detailed in XDA blog post. It should be launched at the same time as the Mi 7 and may feature in-display fingerprint sensor. XDA claims that in addition to these devices, there are others specs that would be revealed later by the renders. Stay tuned for more updates on Mi 7.
