Lost in Space Season 3: Everything You Need to Know

With season 2 of Lost in Space ending on a cliffhanger, fans are desperate to find out what’s in store for the Robinsons in the third and final season. Yes, you heard it, right people! We will be getting a Lost in Space Season 3 on Netflix soon.

The new season was going to release in September 2020, but there was a delay due to the worldwide pandemic. However, the shooting of the season was not possible due to safety guidelines, so we’re expecting a release date for 2021.

According to different sources, the shooting of the show was completed in January of 2021. This means the new season will hit Netflix later this year or in early 2022. Fans anticipate that Netflix will probably release the season on Christmas Eve as they did with season 2. Well, as fans of this mindblowing sci-fi series, all we want is season 3, and for that, we can wait a little longer.

Lost in Space Season 3

It was clear that there was going to be a season three to the series. The way the writers ended season 2 on a cliffhanger was never going to be the show’s ending. If it were the case, there would have been mass outrage and calls for a season 3 by the fans. Since the last two seasons, the show has been gaining a lot of followers.

Even before Netflix itself officially announced releasing of season 3, the writers were already working on it.

The Story so far

In the second season’s final episode, Judy, Penny, and Will made their escape from the invading ship. Now the major cliffhanger we are left with is while the children are traveling in the Jupiter Transport, they discover the Fortuna, a lost ship mentioned multiple times during the two seasons.

What to Expect From Lost in Space Season 3

With the show ending with the children looking upon the Fortuna, fans have been busy creating their theories on what we will get in season 3. A Strong number say that Grant Kelly, the captain of the Fortuna, is still alive, and the captain will appear in the upcoming season.

From the looks of it, the children are in the Dark Star System. We will get to see a new planet and multiple other locations where the story of Lost in Space season 3 will play out. One thing is for sure the children are aware of which star system they are traveling in.

Another unanswered question from season 2 is that of Dr. Smith. It seemed like her journey in this series came to an end, but they never find her body, which makes us think if she will return in the final season. The way that she died, or at least we think she did, was too basic and unfitting for a character with her intelligence and importance. We are also yet to discover the fates of John and Maureen, who we last saw on the robot stack.

The wait for the upcoming season has been very tiring. However, fans cannot wait for the final season release; if you wish to catch up on the show, head on over to Netflix.
