This year’s Asian Games were successful in the context of Indian athletes. As our boys and girls equally participated in the event, they receive the medals on their own labor. Starting from Day 1 until the second last day, none of the day went empty-handed. Every single day our athletes receive a Gold medal which counts to a total of 15 at last. It matches with the total Gold medals at first Asian Games 1951, New Delhi.
Indian finished with a total of 69 medals which is the highest ever medals from Indians at any Asian Games. They received a total of 24 Silver which now becomes a record for India at Asiad. The hosts Indonesia ranks at 4th position with 31 Gold medals and a total 98 medals.

Moreover, most important India’s population who did not lose to pray for the athletes also feel happy for their play.
Asian Games 2018 Jakarta and Palembang are now over while remaining the closing ceremony. Here is the Good news. Flag bearer for the closing ceremony is chosen as Rani Rampal after the women hockey team bags the Silver. The Indian Women Hockey Team loses to Japan by 2-1 in the final while Indian men win Bronze after defeating chief rivals Pakistan by 2-1. Firstly, they lose to Malaysia in Finals in the penalty shootout by 7-6.
- Day 14 also brings Gold in Boxing taken by amateur Indian boxer Amit Panghal. He defeats the Olympic winner Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan in the 49kg Men’s final.
- There was a new event in Asian Games 2018 called Bridge. Two 60-yr Indian men won Gold in Bridge pair event.
- Swapna Barman earned her first title in Heptathlon and made history becoming first Indian to win a Gold in the event.
