Joan Laporta becomes the new president of FC Barcelona. Spanish Football Club Barcelona announced the victory of Joan Laporta, the former president of the club between the two years (2003 and 2010), in the presidential elections. The elections took place on Sunday, where Joan won with 54.28% of vote.

And the official account of the club published the official data for the club’s presidential elections. After counting all the votes Joan Laporta got 54.28% of the votes, followed by Victor Font in second place with (29.99%), and then Anthony Frexia in third place By (8.58%).
The former Barcelona club president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, announced his resignation from his post as president of the Catalan club, on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 after the success of the Barcelona Board of Directors campaign.
Th impeachment campaign began at the end of last season, after Barcelona’s historic loss to Bayern Munich (2-8) in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Businessman Jordi Fari submitted a “withdrawal of confidence” request from Bartomeu and his management on August 26, after the Argentine star Lionel Messi announced, via a fax, that he wanted to leave the club and activate the clause that allows him to unilaterally cancel his contract with Barcelona.
The Catalan team confirmed that the term of validity of the item has expired, so Messi is forced to continue, preferring not to enter the courts, in early September.
All three candidates have pledged to try to persuade Argentine star Lionel Messi to continue his career with Barcelona, knowing that his contract with the club will expire at the end of the current season.
But with the arrival of Juan Laporta (58 years), the Argentine star is expected to remain in the “Camp Nou” stadium.
