The story in The Mandalorian is set after the events of the Return Of The Jedi, released in 1983. Pedro Pascal or The Mandalorian, travels to Mandalore with his adorable muppet companion, Grogu. The purpose of his trip is to atone for his previous wrongdoings.

This trip of the Mandalorian continues, with him and Grogu reunited. The New Republic struggles, meantime, to guide the galaxy away from its troubled past. As he travels with Grogu, the Mandalorian will encounter previous allies and meet fresh adversaries.
It has also been revealed that the third season will revolve around Mandalore and this significant location.
As part of the announcement panel, one of the stars also stated that their character had “unfinished business.” This frightening prophecy might portend a dispute over ownership of the Darksaber between Bo-Katan and his erstwhile ally Din Djarin.
