In November 2020, CBS and the show makers of Survivor announced that they would introduce a new policy for the show. In light of Black Lives Matter, this organization spoke up about the discrimination they faced as a minority on the show. Furthermore, to make a binding change, they got a petition signed calling upon the show makers to initiate some changes. As a result, the show, from now onwards, would have 50% BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People Of Colour) contestants. It also included hiring more BIPOC crew for the production.
