The series has seven successful seasons with the eighth one currently being aired. However, this new ongoing season is coming to its end and fans are curious to know whether this will be the end. Or will there be a new season? Are the Goldbergs renewed for a season 9? If yes, then when will it be aired? Keep on reading to find out the latest information regarding the Goldbergs season 9.
What is the plot of the Goldbergs?
Set in Jenkintown in Pennsylvania, the Goldbergs are a family of seven including a granddad, a father, a mother, and three children. The show features their life in the ’80s and is based on the videotapes recorded by the showrunner- Adam Frederick Goldberg, during his childhood. The plot is full of love, laughter, and romance; the perfect concoction to turn a bad day into a good one.
The series follows the Goldbergs on their adventures as they find their way through family drama and school problems. The three children- annoyed by their mom’s overprotectiveness and dad’s anger, seek advice from their grandad Pop who is the real-life of the show! They go through puberty and deal with high school drama and complicated relationships that lead to heartbreak. All in all, the Goldbergs is a show full of life that is sure to turn your frown upside down.
Will there be a season 9 of The Goldbergs?
With the eighth still going on, the producers have not yet released any information regarding the release of the ninth season. However, we do expect to hear something from them regarding Goldbergs Season 9 once the current season ends on May 5, 2021. We do want you to keep your hopes high as the chances of the series getting renewed for a new season are quite high! It is ABC’s current highest-rated comedy TV series and we are sure that the producers won’t end it this soon.
The series has received immense success in its long life of eight seasons and several high-end celebrities have even made guest appearances in the show! Thus, it only makes sense for the show to get renewed for a new season because fans are definitely not ready to see the show end.
Release date of The Goldbergs Season 9
As the show still has not been renewed for the ninth season, we do not have an exact release date as of yet. However, The Goldbergs, like all other broadcast TV series, debuts its season at the end of spring and the beginning of fall. Thus, based on this, we can predict that the ninth season of the Goldbergs will premiere somewhere between September and October 2021.
What will happen in the ninth season?
As the finale of the eighth season of the Goldbergs has still not aired, it is really difficult to make any assumptions about what will happen in season 9 of The Goldbergs. But, much to our dismay, one thing is for sure- Pops will not be making a reappearance. This is because the extremely talented George Segal who played the role of Pops passed away in March 2021 due to complications arising during bypass surgery.
This will be a tremendous loss to the show because Pops is one of our favorite characters and we are curious to see how the producers will go about one of its major characters. Apart from this, a major part of the ninth season’s story will be Adam and Brea’s relationship which is quite rocky up till now. The ninth season will tell us whether they decide to split up and go their separate ways or stick it out and make things better.
The Goldbergs is a must-watch TV show for every person out there and it definitely deserved a ninth season. We do hope and pray that the producers listen to us and renew the show for a new season because we are not ready to say our goodbyes just yet.
