NZ vs ENG 2nd ODI: Wiliamson doubtful as New Zealand look for 10th Straight Win

In the first game host New Zealand won over the visitors by 3 wickets in the last over. In a very closely contested game New Zealand came out on top to go 1-0 up against England in five match ODI series. To continue their run, kiwis will be looking for their 10th consecutive ODI-win in upcoming 2nd game against England at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui.

England were careless as they didn’t manage to take New Zealand wickets. At the stage when kiwis lost their 7th-wicket in form of Ross Taylor, England were looking most likely to win. English batsmen played accordingly and maintained well score till the last. The first game was all about Santner’s all-round Heroics and Taylor’s batting brilliance. Taylor was awarded Player of the Match for his brilliant century.

Pitch in the Bay Oval is supposed to be favorable for bowling side and will offer more bounce than in Hamilton. As a result, both teams will hold the extra pacers in their team. However, there might be odd shower in the evening even after a good clear rain prediction. The Bay Oval has hosted just 4 ODIs of which the last game was between New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The Kiwis beat Lankans by 36 runs. But, Kiwis were defeated here by Pakistan in T20I last month.

New Zealand’s skipper Williamson is suffering with hamstring strain, therefore Kiwis will come out with Mark Chapman as new batsman onto the field and hope Southee will operate the captain-ship.
