Extraction 2 has been confirmed and is expected to release on June 16, 2023, on Netflix this summer. From Previously written film Extraction 1 is based on the Ciudad, a graphic novel by Ande Parks and Russo Brothers. As Sam Hargrave, returning director of the film’s story said to Collider in January 2021,
“So, [as far as] my involvement, I would like to be as involved as possible, but I also don’t want to be greedy. There are a lot of other super-talented filmmakers out there who would have unique visions and bring something new and fresh to the franchise. We should get to do the second one with the same team and establish the franchise. But from there, I would love to see, as a fan of cinema, other young directors who, again, can push the level of action.”
On his social media account, he announced the film in Nov 2021. He updated us about the production of Extraction 2 and the beginning of shooting, which can be seen there already.
