Carnival Row Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot & Many More

Amazon prime never fails to disappoint viewers. Especially when it comes to fantasy tv shows like Carnival Row, whose Season 1 premiered in August 2019. The series is a noir aura and shows nail-biting scenes that fans can’t have enough of. Luckily, the axile waiting period is over, and the show’s season 2 is coming soon. And that, too, even after the hurdles produced by Covid 19 during shooting, the Carnival Row Season 2 is almost ready for people to binge-watch. So, what will the show’s release date be, and who will feature in the new episodes? To find out the answers to these questions and many more, continue scrolling.

Carnival Row Plot

Drama, love, betrayal, lies, hypocrisy, and politics are just some of the main elements of this show. The plot revolves around mythical creatures who have had to leave their homes, Tirnanic (since it has been greatly damaged by war). And enter The Burgue, a city where the immigrant population is very high.

Lately, this city is full of crimes. Such as murders whose answers need to be found. This is where Philo fits in. Philo is a former soldier who is now a police investigator and the only person who is actually interested in finding answers and bringing a halt to the ongoing crimes. Then there is Vignette, a fae who had to leave her home and others to survive. But, unfortunately, every other creature traveling with her died on their way to The Burgue besides her.

Although, the Burgue is no heaven for faes who are constantly looked down upon by humans. In fact, the faes are extremely poor and fit in the lower class of the city and are left to work for the humans. And just like every other refugee, Vignette also starts working as a handmaid for a rich family. Later on, she comes across Philo, her ex-lover. He is the same lover she thought had died in the war, but somehow he was very much alive. Both Vignette and Philo explore their relationship while figuring out how to make The Burgue free of discrimination.

Carnival Row Season 2 Renewal and Release Date

Carnival Row was renewed for a season 2 even before Season 1 became available for watching on Amazon Prime, i.e., in July 2019. Season 1 was aired in August 2019 and became a fan favorite. Fans wanted to know more about the characters and were curious about the upcoming events, so the confirmation that there will be a new season made them ecstatic.

Before filming could even begin, creator Travis Beacham left the series due to creative differences. But, the shooting for Season 2 did finally begin in November 2019 in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, a few weeks before it could get completed, Covid 19 came into the picture and brought the entire process of the upcoming season to a halt. Immediately after the end of lockdown, the shooting began, and it was time for a wrap-up in August 2020. Since then, the episodes have been under

development so that they are ready to be released. Hopefully, if everything goes as planned and there are no more hindrances, the season will be ready for the public to watch by late 2021 or early 2022.

Carnival Row Season 2 Plot

At the end of the first season, viewers got to see an alliance between Jonah and Sophie. They also get to see Vignette and Philo fight the superior beings of The Burgue while forming a new life on carnival row. This new life shall contain all mythical creatures. It shall also be where Philo can explore his true self ( as he is half-face half-human).

Season 2 of this fantasy series will include the fight for equality as Fae will stand up against all the oppression done by Sophie and Jonah. We will also get to see the two star-crossed lovers explore more of their relationship. Furthermore, this will be the season providing answers to your questions, such as what really went down with Imogen and Agreus after their escape. Finally, word on the street is that another new race of pixies will be included from another part of carnival row to this season, making us very excited. Overall, season 2 shall take drama, romance, and chaos in this series on a completely another level.
